Nick/Alicia: my headcanon, Nick started drugs partly because of the guilt of being with his sister (esp. since he thought he was supposed to be the responsible one after dad died) and then got addicted and ran off partly to protect her. She feels he chose the drugs over her (though she’s smart so logically she knows how addiction works) so there’s tension even though she still loves him and wants to be with him. She’s with some guy who’s safe but doesn’t love because she doesn’t wanna be hurt.

Anyway, once the zombie apocalypse gets in deep, pretty soon drugs will become super hard to get so he’ll be forced to get clean (and even before that he’ll stay clean to protect her), and she’ll be there with him and then they’ll get back together and say fuck society’s rules the world’s ending and I want to be with the one I love. I know it probably won’t happen but this is my dream for how it goes. 🙂

It’s a nice dream, Anon! I’d watch the hell out of that show.

The way they were in that jello scene (I’m just going to call it the jello scene from now on), I would totally buy that they were in a secret incestuous relationship and then broke things off because they thought that was the right thing to do. Nick turned to drugs to cope and Alicia’s got her safe boyfriend and her sterling academic record, and now they’re in this limbo where they’ve grown apart but they’re unhappy without each other. Nick is afraid she doesn’t want him anymore because he’s become such a deadbeat, and she’s afraid he’s going to get himself killed but she’s also afraid that by trying to help and getting close to him again she might only make things worse.

Yeah, it’s a really nice dream. I wonder how many episodes we can go before canon gets in the way, lol.

Nick/Alicia

So, Fear The Walking Dead, The Walking Dead prequel series (but with different characters), premiered on Sunday, for those of you who aren’t aware. When we found out it focused on a single family that had a teenage son and daughter, naturally we began to wonder if it would be shippable. It feels like we’ve been speculating about this for years, and finally it’s here.

Anon 1:

nick and alicia from ftwd are so cute

Anon 2:

have you watched fear the walking dead? I SHIP THE SIBLINGS SO MUCH LIKE WOW

So just watched Fear the Walking Dead and the siblings on it, Nick & Alicia had an adorable scene in the hospital and they were holding hands, there was more chemistry between the two of them in that one scene than between Alicia and her boyfriend.

I’m so glad our hopes for the brother/sister relationship weren’t misguided and that we already have some Nick/Alicia shippers among us.

At first I was disappointed because I wasn’t liking either character at all, and the siblings seemed very disinterested in each other, but then they had that AMAZING scene when she fed him jello and they had an actual conversation and he caressed her wrist! and I saw that maybe they would be very shippable after all. Nick grew on me eventually, and I’m hoping Alicia will too. And ones things really start to get crazy with the zombies I think it’s going to get even better because they’ll be together more.

I think Alicia’s boyfriend will turn out to be alive, but I don’t think he’s long for the world anyway. And I agree, they gave us very little to make us care about that relationship, there was definitely a lot more chemistry in the Alicia/Nick scene.

I mean, when she started giggling and hopped on top of him on the bed and then the way he was smiling back at her as she used the electrical mechanism to lift the bed to a sitting position (bringing his body a lot closer to hers), I was like “WHAT IS HAPPENING”. I couldn’t believe it.

And then he was stroking her hand.

Unbelievable.

ETa: Also, I think that scene between Alicia and Nick is one of the best scenes in the entire episode, and I think for a lot of people it was one of the only scenes that made them really connect with the characters. That’s so important. The scene really surprised me and I think it was very well-written.
