Oh my gosh, I forgot to tell you! A couple weeks ago my roommate was telling me that she and my other roommate caught the Operation Infiltration episode of The Middle (they have both seen several episodes and know about the characters), and they were so confused because they thought Axl and Sue were pretending to date! They seemed all coupley to them! It was hilarious!

That’s amazing.

Just further confirmation that “Operation Infiltration” is an epic Axl/Sue episode.

I can totally understand how someone could make that mistake.

What’s the best you think we could get out of Sue/Axl? Obviously they will never be together, it’s on ABC. I’d say best, BEST case scenario we could get them saying platonic I love yous, MAYBE like changing in the same room lol? (They make comments about Axl pulling Sue out of the shower, her feeding him in the bath etc so there are very slim possibilities?) or like them talking about sex/private things/emotions in some way? What do you think?

That’s a good question, Anon. I don’t know. Like you said, we’ve already had them share a room, we’ve had Axl pulling Sue out of the show, her feeding him while he’s in the bath. I mean, that’s a lot. That’s A LOT. I would love to see them say, “I love you” to each other, but I already know they love each other, so it’s not like I need to see it.

Things I would really love to see, which I think are realistic,
are a really serious hug between the two of them, one that Axl initiated. Another
reference to them seeing each other in the future, like maybe Sue is so sick of
potatoes from her food court job that she says she never wants to cook potatoes
again, and it ends up in some kind of bet that Axl loses where on Thanksgiving
he has to make the mashed potatoes every single year for the rest of their
lives and so it’s just sort of unacknowledged that they’ll spend Thanksgiving
together no matter what for the rest of their lives. You know, something like
that. And then one of my favorite Axl/Sue scenes is Axl cheering Sue up after
she was dumped by her boyfriend. That classic Heckcest episode The Paper Route.
I love it, of course, when he lets her come to his baseball game to cheer her
up and then FREAKS out when she gets hit by the baseball, but all of the
amazing things he says to her when he wants her to feel better, about how guys
*could* like her and things like that. Like I think that’s the closest we could
come to something really shippy with a ship that’s never going to be canon. So
basically it’s stuff that has already happened, lol, I just want more of it. I
was going to say Axl not liking Sue’s boyfriend – that already happened and it
was more amazing than we could have dreamed of. So I guess we just need Sue
really hating a girlfriend of Axl’s, which technically has happened before –
those two cheerleader girls who never remembered her and refused to believe she
was really Axl’s sister.

You know, when you watch the show, just one episode each week,
and it’s like,  “Oh no, another episode
with no Axl/Sue scenes”, you start to forget how much has actually happened
between them over the course of seven seasons.

Did you see?! The synopsis of the next middle says that Axl wants to move in to Sue’s dorm room!

Anon 2:

DID YOU SEE THE MIDDLE SUE AND AXL SHARED A ROOM?!?!? Like they properly shared a room it was so good I wanted it to go on forever it was such a cute plot???????

Anon 3:

In the middle were those yellow shorts sue had on under her nightie when she woke up her underwear bc if they were she is the cutest lol. like they were proper shorts hahaha.

I know!!!!!!! I had no idea what this week’s episode was going to be about. And recently, I’m not sure why, the episodes have been released on Monday. So I started watching it and then all of the sudden AXL AND SUE WERE SHARING A ROOM.

I actually don’t think it was in-character for Sue to be against it. Sue from the first few seasons would have been thrilled. But it was all worth it for that scene at the end after he leaves where she’s stroking his pillow sadly. THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED, FOLKS.

And it really wouldn’t be in-character for Axl to be in favor of it, no matter what the circumstances were, so I guess it was just a strange twist of fate.

I wish it had lasted for longer and they had spent more time alone but I never expected anything at all like this so I have no real complaints.

And I loved their husband/wife bickering. Also, I thought it was a little odd (/great!) that a lot of the scenes of Axl and Sue living together where intermixed with scenes of Frankie jumping Mike and the two of them getting it on.

Sue has become a true college student int that she just throws on some pants and a jacket and shoes and goes straight to class. Her PJs were really cute and Sue pulling on her pants in front of Axl was literally the best. Yeah, they were more like boxers than panties but still.

It was about time for a proper Axl/Sue ep.Well, I say that, but we were really spoiled in the first part of the season.

@heckcest

All I want is for Axl to give Sue some kind of version of “the talk” like she is so innocent and she’s actually really pretty so I need like a guy trying to begin her pants and axl over seeing it and sue doesn’t get it or something and he has to talk to her!

That’s a classic scenario for them and what’s so great is that it could almost possibly actually happen on the show.

I could see Mike and Frankie thinking that Sue understood something when she didn’t really understand, and I love the idea of Axl being the only one who realizes exactly how innocent she really is.

That would be such an awkward conversation for him but he would do it because her knowing would be so much more important than how uncomfortable it was for him to tell her.

So cute!
